These are beads made from assorted gemstones to look like 20mm globes. The oceans are made of Lapis, and the inlaid continents are made from assorted Jaspers and Mother of Pearl. The globe has gold tone longitude and latitude lines, and is covered thickly with a high gloss varnish.
NOTE: Please allow for natural variations in the stones. Beads are shown in picture with an eye pin and cord, to make a pendant, but eye pin and cord do not come with the beads.
Cool, can I teach my kid geography with these?
Um, no. The continents are there (for the most part), but the shapes and sizes can be a little vague. And poor Australia often appears as a small white rectangle. Still, these are fascinating items, and highly recommended.
