"Fruit" Quartzes are nearly always made of glass. Colorant is added to hot liquid glass, swirled slightly, and then cooled and cut into gems like real Quartz. The one exception is Strawberry Quartz, which is another name for Red Rutilated Quartz. Otherwise, when you see Pineapple, Blueberry, Cherry, or other "fruit" Quartz, you can know it is actually colored glass.
