So there I was, with my very expensive Tanzanite beads on the scanner, trying to get a perfect picture to show their translucent beauty, when my little 2-year-old comes into the office with his patented "I'm looking for mischief!" grin. Then the phone rang, so I told him, "You stay away from this stuff." Why I said that, I have no idea, because anyone familiar with children knows that "You stay away from this stuff" is BabySpeak for "Please play with this, play with it hard, and the more you can mess it up, the happier I will be with you." So when I returned, I found my lovely tanzanite beads strewn all over the place! They are rather small, so many of them are lost for good, but I managed to salvage those that were all over my desk and chair. Moral of the story: Toddlers don't listen.
