Last week, I reported on how spammers were filling up my guest book with tons of ads for assorted drugs and other nonsense. Since then, I have put an irritated warning on that page telling people that they may NOT spam the book. The result is that I've had at least twice as many spam messages as before. Since I don't really have time to delete 25 messages from my guest book each day, I have decided to completely remove the guest book, if only temporarily. I figure the spammer (the messages sound amazingly alike, so I am assuming it is one person doing most of the work) probably has me in his or her favorites and goes there every day to fill up the book, and when s/he discovers that the book is no longer there, s/he may give up. Fast forward two or three weeks, and I'll try reinstating it. Anyway, anyone who wished to get a look at the guest book before it goes bye-bye had better get there quickly, because I plan to shut it down mid-week.
